The Woodhaven 8505 Mortise Bit is a carbide-tipped, bearing-guided 1/2" diameter bit with a 3/4" cut length — specifically needed when using Woodhaven hinge jigs on door frames with a 1/2" thick stop attached. 2-1/4" overall length, 5/8" bearing, 1/4" shank.

• REQUIRED FOR FRAMES WITH 1/2" STOPS: The 8505 is necessary when mounting a hinge jig on a door frame that already has a 1/2" thick stop attached — the longer cut length clears the stop for a full-depth mortise.
• CARBIDE-TIPPED FOR LONG LIFE: Carbide tip maintains a sharp edge through extended use on hardwood, softwood, and MDF frames and jambs.
