Kusuri Potassium Permanganate is a popular powdered chemical with various applications. Potassium can be used for the treatment of parasites in a pond and is excellent for the eradication of Trichodina and Costia along with other parasites. It can also be used as a general disinfectant for ponds and equipment.

It will discolour water for up to 7 days, and can be used down to 10°C.

At higher temperatures Potassium Permanganate removes oxygen from pond water, therefore it is advisable to increase aeration during treatment if possible.

Kusuri Hydrogen Peroxide 6% can be used to increase the oxygen levels in pond water and also remove the discolouration from the pond water after a course of Kusuri Potassium Permanganate has oxidized from pink to brown.

Dosage Rate:
6.8g per 1000 gallons of pond water.

Directions:
Measure the correct dosage for your pond. Add to a bucket of hot water and aerate for 20 minutes to gas off any impurities. Fill a clean watering can with solution from the bucket, slowly apply to the pond over a 1 hour period. This will prevent shocking the pond with a highly concentrated dose.

Kusuri Potassium Permanganate will turn the water purple. Re-dose as required to achieve a minimum of 15 hours of purple coloured water e.g. 2 hours and the pond goes brown, redose, pond goes brown after 5 hours, redose, pond goes brown after 8 hours. 2+5+8=15 hours of purple water. Kusuri recommend adding Hydrogen Peroxide 6% to re-oxygenate and clear brown pond water.

Kusuri do not recommend the use of this chemical as a dip treatment.

Do not use below 10°C.
